Away shirt as worn by Switzerland during UEFA Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup qualification campaign. Co-hosts of Euro 2008, Switzerland played all their group stage matches at home. Despite high hopes, the team was eliminated in the group stage, but not before an emotional 2–0 victory over Portugal, in which Hakan Yakin scored twice in Basel. This match was also the final game in charge for legendary coach Köbi Kuhn.

The shirt continued to be worn during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, where Switzerland, under Ottmar Hitzfeld, topped their group ahead of Greece and qualified for South Africa 2010.
