Away shirt as worn by Michael Owen when Liverpool continued their transition into a new era under Gérard Houllier, building a squad that would soon return to major trophy success.

The 1998-99 season saw the Reds finish 7th in the Premier League, while laying the foundations for the cup-winning side of the early 2000s.

Owen was the standout star, establishing himself as one of the most feared strikers in Europe. He finished the season as Liverpool’s top scorer and had already won the Premier League Golden Boot in the previous campaign.

Known for his explosive pace and clinical finishing, Owen would go on to score 158 goals in 297 appearances for Liverpool and later win the Ballon d’Or in 2001.

This iconic cream away shirt, with its bold red detailing, is one of Liverpool’s most recognisable designs of the late 90s and is closely associated with Owen’s emergence as a global superstar.
